My name is Andrea, and I am a junior at Tarpon Springs High School in Tarpon Springs, Florida and I am in my third year in the Jacobson Culinary Arts Academy. As an assignment, we are to create a food related blog and maintain it for the duration of the class; posting pictures, videos, or writing on our subject. In my blog, Cultural Eats, I will be blogging about cities heavily influenced by other cultures and the foods that they eat. Cities I will blog about include; New Orleans, Louisiana, New York City, New York, San Francisco, California, Miami, Florida, and many more. I will blog about one city a week, including pictures of the city, restaurants in the city, pictures of the foods they eat, and anything else that is significant. Unfortunately, due to me being a student, I can not personally blog my own photographs or experiences of the city, so everything I post will be things found on the internet and other people’s experiences. However there are some cities I will be able to blog from personal experience including; Tarpon Springs, Florida, Syracuse, New York, San Antonio, Texas, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Tampa, Florida. Tarpon Springs is famous for having the highest percentage of Greek- Americans of any city in the United States. The city is filled with Greek restaurants, Greek shops, and Greek culture. Also, I will be visiting New Orleans in the next few weeks, so the week after I visit I will use New Orleans as my city for that week.
I hope you enjoy this blog and learn a lot about cities bustling with culture.
